Jeffrey, you have kindly granted my requests in the past and so I make another: I am currently reading a "historical novel" about Lady Jane Grey. Would you mind posting any pictures of her and her family? I'd also be interested in your take on the happenings surrounding her tragic bid for the throne. Thanks!

I think I'll handle that at the Medievalist. Could get interesting. I'll warn you, though. I sympathize with her, but have nothing but contempt for the people who got her into that mess.

Well thanks! I'll look forward to it! I asked here because I have a hard time keeping up with the Medievalist as you're such a fast poster there - but I'll monitor it. No warning needed - I'm just interested in your take on her life and death. It would seem her parents were cruel and threw her to the wolves.

Her parents were monsters.

There's no verified portrait of Lady Jane Grey - the window of time during which one could have been made was simply too narrow. It was all dealt with in a recent article in The New Yorker.
