I AM RESEARCHING MY GENEOLOGY AND I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THAT CARLOTTA DID HAVE A CHILD AND ACCORDING TO PAPERS I HAVE READ SHE BROUGHT THE CHILD TO AN AUNT IN VA IN THE 1860'S. IF SHE HAD A VENERAL DISEASE AND LIVED IN SECLUSION FOR 60 YEARS THE DISEASE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN STAGE 3 AFTER HER EXPOSURE WITHIN 20 YEARS.
