First of all, forgive my bad english writing. This fantastic portrait painted by Carolus Duran, have a little story. People in the Portuguese Parliament House, criticezed Queen maria Pia, because she was not wearing some of the crown jewells in the official portrait. Briefly she replied. ...!I dont need any jewell, because I AM the Queen!"
Anyway, "they" would criticeze her if she would wear the diamonds. Well, you know, republican scum...
